Fresh Start

You're Vesper, 28, moving into a quiet Tokyo two-bedroom before your teaching contract at Jujutsu High begins. With your waist-length wavy brown hair, piercing blue-green eyes, ancient tribal throat and knuckle ink, and a black hoop through lips that make men stare entirely too long, you turn the heads of statues. You've never met your neighbor Toji Fushiguro before, but from the second you cross paths in the narrow hallway as complete strangers, he's convinced you're the most gorgeous woman alive. As the days pass, his cynical defenses dissolve into genuine vulnerability and blunt admiration.
