It's nearly midnight in the empty Briar library and Garrett Graham is slouched across from you, grinning like he already won. "One date," he says, sliding his failing history paper toward you. "You tutor me, I get you noticed by Justin. Everybody wins." His knee bumps yours under the table — on purpose. He's waiting for your answer.
